Have you ever seen something posted in the group and not quite known what it stood for? Chances are, you aren’t alone. As you get further along in your photography career and more accustomed to our tribe you’ll catch on pretty quick, but here are a few to give you a head-start.

Headswap
People blink and make weird faces, stuff happens, especially when kids are involved. Instead of scrapping an otherwise gorgeous image, you can take two similar images. One where everything looks good except one person, the other where that specific person good (best if it’s from the same or similar angle). The images need to edited in photoshop, or if you aren’t up for the challenge, you can seek out a skilled editor to outsource your difficult images.
Dots Per Inch (DPI)
DPI tells printers how many dots of ink to place per square inch. It’s very important to pay attention to this while you send your images off to be printed. When your images have a higher DPI, it means you will have a very clean, sharp image.
Pixels Per Inch (PPI)
PPI is the unit used to measure pixels on a computer screen. If you ever need to use a scanner to scan images, you’ll be asked what PPI you’d like to scan at. 72 is low resolution, but can be good for loading images quicker, especially just via email to friends and family. 300 is preferred for higher quality images, where you need the resolution to look spot on.

Tacos
Maureen Flynn Luther, owner of The House of Flynn, loves to eat tacos! When she first started the House of Flynn’s Facebook group she decided to include her love of Mermaids and Tacos in the group. Now the members love to post hilarious taco memes, and celebrate everyday as if it were Taco Tuesday.
